The Israel Encounter features a 10-day exploration of Israel designed specifically for couples where one person is Jewish and the other is not.  The goals of the program are to help you:

  • strengthen your ability and commitment to raise Jewish children
  • explore Jewish identity
  • nurture your relationship with the State of Israel
  • strengthen your connections to the Atlanta Jewish community

On our trip to Israel we visit various parts of the country - Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the Galilee, the Dead Sea, Masada - in an environment that mixes fun and recreation, along with socializing, learning, and reflecting.

The Israel Encounter 2009 interfaith couples (with one Jewish and one non-Jewish partner) trip to Israel is scheduled for May 6 - May 18, 2009 .    Please complete an application online, noting that the deadline for accepting applications is Jan 15, 2009.   The Israel Encounter 2008 cohort of 14 interfaith couples had an amazing experience.  Please see the article and photos page to learn more about the experiences that this group had.

Because of a special grant from The Marcus Foundation, the total cost of the trip is $4000 per couple (which is less than 50% of the actual cost). This includes: round-trip airfare (non-stop Delta group flight from Atlanta to Tel Aviv and back), all guided tours; hotel accommodations; two meals per day; and transportation while in Israel. This is an opportunity not to be missed, at a price that is extremely reasonable.
